Pacoche is a true paradise for bird watching lovers. By the year 2008, two hundred species of birds were accounted for, of which forty-four of these species are endemic. Among these, the following are found:

  • West Peruvian Screech Owl,
  • Rufous Headed Chachalacas,
  • Short-tailed Woodstar, Esmeraldas Woodstar,
  • Gray and White Tyrannulet,
  • Saffron Siskin,
  • Guayaquil Woodpecker,
  • Esmeraldas Woodstar hummingbird, etc.
